Sinopsis Mengenai Film Street Society 2014

Film ini disutradarai oleh Awi Suryadi .

Film ini memulai kisahnya dengan aksi balapan, sekaligus memperkenalkan tokoh utama kita, Rio (Marcel Chandrawinata, 'Catatan Akhir Sekolah', 'Alexandria'), cowok ganteng anak orang kaya di Jakarta yang hobi balapan liar dengan supercar. Sepulang balapan ia membawa cewek ke kamarnya untuk kemudian ia tinggalkan keesokan paginya. Hal yang menarik adalah, si pembuat film ini mampu memberi kesan bahwa tokoh utama kita ini tak sekedar bad boy namun juga cowok baik-baik di saat yang sama.

Lalu muncul Karina (Chelsea Islan, 'Refrain'), DJ imut menggemaskan yang ditemui Rio di sebuah klub. Karina dengan segala pesonanya mampu membuat Rio jadi lebih memiliki pegangan dalam hidupnya. Bahkan, karena janjinya kepada Karina untuk meninggalkan balapan, ia bahkan ogah meladeni Nico (Edward Gunawan 'Arisan! 2'), anak orang kaya dari Surabaya yang terus saja mengajaknya balapan. Sampai pada satu ketika Karina diculik oleh Yopie (Edward Akbar, 'Air Terjun Pengantin Phuket'), lagi-lagi anak orang kaya, yang punya dendam masalalu pada Nico. Yopie ingin agar Rio balapan dengan Nico, dan membawa 'arek suroboyo' itu ke hadapannya untuk menuntaskan balas dendamnya.

Sampai di situ, film ini jelas memiliki jalinan kisah yang penuh intrik. Awi juga tahu caranya bersenang-senang. Adegan-adegan balap di film ini memang tak pernah sampai membuat kita tegang, tak juga memukau sama sekali. Tapi, porsi drama, komedi dan twist film ini mampu mengaduk-aduk emosi penonton. Kecuali soal hobi bergonta-ganti supercar, film ini sangat dekat dengan keseharian warga kota. Anak pejabat, keturunan konglomerat, selebritas, mungkin mampu gonta-ganti supercar, namun pergi ke klub, mabuk, nongkrong bersama teman-teman, hingga seks di luar nikah, adalah keseharian yang sering kita jumpai. Penggambaran hal itu di film ini tampil begitu natural, dan Awi mampu menampilkannya dengan halus dan cermat, tanpa terasa dibuat-buat.

Film ini memang tak tampil dengan sempurna. Ada saja kekurangan di sana-sini; adegan balapannya kurang gereget. Namun, menyaksikan mobil-mobil supermewah balapan menyusuri kolong Jalan Antasari dengan lampu-lampu biru, melaju ke Sudirman-Tharim hingga Harmoni-Kota, rasanya seperti melihat Jakarta yang tak pernah terlihat sebelumnya. Belum lagi, kita juga diajak menyusuri Jembatan Suramadu dan tepian pantai-pantai Bali.

Di luar semua itu, Marcel berhasil menghidupkan karakter Rio, pas sekali. Juga aktor-aktor lainnya tak kalah unjuk peran. Chelsea Islan sebagai Karina tampil memukau. Tak hanya menggemaskan, ia juga mampu mengoyak-ngoyak hati kita di saat yang bersamaan. Edward Gunawan sebagai wong Suroboyo tengil yang dilanda rasa penasaran, membuat kita berdecak kagum melihatnya bermain peran. Sedikit sekali aktor kita yang memiliki kharisma, dan kini kita tahu, Edward adalah satu di antara yang sedikit itu. Edward Akbar sebagai Yopie sang antagonis juga berhasil menghidupkan karakternya. Amarah dan dendam yang ditunjukkannya terasa menyesakkan untuk kita lihat.

Tak hanya berhasil memulai kisahnya di awal film bergulir, Awi juga sukses menutupnya dengan asik. Di pengujung film, berkontradiksi dengan tradisi klise yang sering membayangi sejumlah film Indonesia yang kerap mengedepankan visi moral dan akhlak bangsa, film ini berani bersikap lain. Rio tetaplah Rio seperti yang kita kenal sedari awal. Bad boy? Tidak juga. Ia mungkin saja playboy, namun yang pasti ia juga seorang cool uncle bagi ponakan-ponakan kecilnya, dan tak banyak yang bisa seperti itu. Di akhir film, saat Rio menaikkan cewek seksi yang ditemuinya di jalan ke mobilnya, kita ikut tersenyum senang sambil penasaran, kira-kira mau pergi ke mana ia setelah ini.
